The citizens of Canada are changing health and healthcare in their country through the ImagineNation Challenges. Managed by Canada Health Infoway, the goal of these challenges is to improve the quality of care and the patient experience.
Today, winners were announced for the Data Impact Challenge, a competition that put the call out to those interested in tackling challenging health policy and health care questions. Teams with authorized access to Canadian health care data sets, and the ability to conduct timely, privacy-sensitive analysis, are helping impact health care decisions in Canada – and ultimately improve patient care. The purpose of the Data Impact Challenge is to explore a new approach to providing evidence-informed responses and information to key opinion leaders and influencers, as well, to raise awareness of the opportunities to use health data appropriately and effectively to improve the Canadian healthcare system. Submissions were evaluated based on a weighting system of 50% speed to submit results and 50% quality of response.
