This was the second challenge in a series of annual challenges aimed at encouraging students to focus on ways to motivate / empower mobility among older adults in their daily lives, both inside their homes and in their community. This challenge was not just about direct care-giving and support for disease, but rather focused on quality of life, personal independence, and helping people experience the best parts of life for as long as possible. Solutions might have taken the form of new products, services, or programs, or they may have applied directly to the person experiencing dementia or to the family and caregivers that provide support.
From the submissions received, eight finalists were given the opportunity to present their designs and discuss possible further collaborations with interested industry partners.
