For nearly 40 years, the College Television awards has recognized excellence in student produced film, television and media work. The nationwide competition has 16 categories and awards over 65 trophies annually.

Submissions are reviewed by active Television Academy members emulating the Primetime Emmy judging process. Entries are evaluated in a three-round judging cycle, culminating in a blue ribbon panel that awards first, second and third prizes. Winners in each category receive cash awards and are flown to Los Angeles to attend a ceremony honoring their achievements.

In addition to showcasing outstanding work to industry leaders and professionals, the College Television Awards is an entry point for students as they aspire toward exciting career opportunities.

Each year, winners are invited to attend the Nominee Summit at the Television Academy, where they interact with industry professionals and participate in development workshops. Students are also tapped to become members of the Television Academy Foundation alumni network, which provides access to year-round opportunities, networking and events.

Previous College Television Award winners have gone on to achieve notable success in the industry, some even winning Primetime Emmy Awards.
