The Elsevier Green and Sustainable Chemistry Challenge is open to individuals or organizations operating in the not-for-profit and for-profit sectors from all countries. Projects can be in any field of Green or Sustainable Chemistry so long as they are applicable for use in developing countries.
Americans from all sectors are uniting behind a big idea -- that a "service year" becomes a common expectation and opportunity for 18-28 year olds as a path to completing college and finding employment. Programs like AmeriCorps and Peace Corps, as well as nonprofit organizations, provide several thousand service opportunities annually.
Congratulations to everyone for their hard work and amazing designs! The professional jury reviewed, discussed, and deliberated over nearly 70 anonymous entries. They were so impressed with the creativity of the entries that they added an extra finalist. The first, second, and third place winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on December 15th at The Chicago Cultural Center at 5:30 pm.
