Highly Engaging Contest Software Feature List

Skild’s contest management software is designed with one primary goal in mind: to make running online contests more enjoyable. Each new feature is added to enhance your ability to produce contests that are highly engaging, and to make the task of operating them simpler and more fun. Below are some highlights of our competition software and for a more complete list of features, please visit our Pricing Page.

Set-Up a New Contest

It may sound trite, but it’s true: setting up an online contest has never been easier. From Skild’s admin console, contest organizers can quickly launch a new event – in fact, we’ve done it in just a few hours. And because the platform is time-based, all major milestones open and close according to your predetermined processes. This not only saves a ton of time, it also mirrors your rules so that there are no compliance concerns. Think that’s cool? Check out some of the contest software’s other set-up features:

Build Entry Forms

Use our easy drag-and-drop interface to build custom entry forms without a designer or developer. Each form element includes validation logic – for instance, you can create a “white list” of file types, specify the max file size for an upload, mark fields as optional or required, and set character limits for text fields.

Accept Multiple Media Types

Allow entrants to upload a wide range of documents, images and videos. Don’t see the file type in our standard list? No problem, we’ll create a new one for you. Having a hard time with large files? Worry not, Skild has received multiple simultaneous uploads exceeding 2 gigs per file.

Set User Visibility

Enable blind or double blind judging, control the visibility of comments by user group, and set the entry visibility according to your preference, all with just a few clicks of the mouse. This is the beauty of Skild: complex back-end architecture, simple one-click interface.

Produce Content

Modify page content, automated emails, error messages, etc. to establish a consistent tone throughout the app. WYSIWYG editors for each piece of content means that what you see (and create) is what your users get. We provide the base content, you make it better.

Manage Scorecards

Build your own scorecard, customize the criteria, and assign different weights to each criterion. Create as many scorecards as you like and apply them independently to different phases or brackets. For example, Phase 1 might use binary scoring methodology (pass/fail), Phase 2 could introduce multiple weighted criteria, and the community’s opinion could be counted in Phase 3.

Run a Tournament

Create a tournament-style competition or use multiple brackets to define entry categories. Think of brackets as mini-contests within a contest – it’s a nice way to segment discreet groups of contestants and judges based on geographic region, age or skill level, category of participation, etc.

Let the Games Begin

Ok, you’ve set up your contest in record time, now it’s on to a whole new set of challenges: interacting with users, managing entries, making judging assignments and advancing contestants from one phase to the next. Surely one person couldn’t possibly manage such an arduous set of tasks, right? Wrong. With the chaos under control and workflows in a single, organized place, an individual or small team could run the entire operations of very large contest. Score one for the Skild!

Assign Judges

Use the “quick assign” feature to rapidly distribute all entries to your entire judging panel, or selectively decide which entries to assign to each judge.
